These unusual earrings are inspired by the spiked form of ragweed pollen. The hard outer coat of a pollen grain makes it robust enough to survive transport by wind, water and insects, but when it lands on the pistil of a flower, it willingly gives up its genetic material to fertilize the flower ovules. Unfortunately, pollen grains are also highly allergenic to many humans, as springtime hay fever sufferers well know.

The earrings are 1 cm in diameter, and each earring weighs 4.2 g.

The earrings are available in solid brass or sterling silver, finished with nickel-free sterling silver or gold plated silver hooks to match, and are ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
