Cymatiosphaera is a species of Acritarch, an organic microfossil from the Neogene period. Some Acritarchs are thought to be fossilized cysts of dinoflagellates, a type of marine plankton with two flagella that propel it through the water.  Dinoflagellate cysts, like bacterial spores, are a dormant zygotic form of the organism that wait around until conditions are right to revive, and are therefore plentiful among marine sediment microfossils.

The weight of an individual earring is approximately 5.4g. and they are 1.8 cm in diameter.

The earrings are available in solid sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass, finished with nickel-free sterling silver or gold plated silver hooks to match, and are ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.

All jewelry ships free of charge from the Ontogenie workshop in Germany. If you live outside of the EU, you may be charged customs or import fees.

T-Shirts, mugs, and art prints ship free and directly from where they are printed, usually a printing company close to your location.
