This stunning pendant is inspired by the benthic foraminifera Peneroplis pertusus. Foraminifera are marine and fresh water protists that build exquisitely detailed shells, or 'tests.' Peneroplis itself is a genus of foraminifera within the order Miliolida. The Miliolida are characterized by multi-chambered, porcelain-like tests composed of calcium carbonate. Peneroplis species are represented in fossil as well as recent natural history.
Pendant measures 1.9 cm (0.75 inch) long below the loop and is 1.7 cm (0.7 inch) wide.
The pendant is 3D printed in solid sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass, finished with a 45 cm/18 inch long sterling silver or gold plated silver chain*, and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
*While a 45 cm/18 inch fits most, other chain lengths are available. At checkout, write a note indicating your preference.
