These delightful earrings depict copepods, tiny crustaceans found in saltwater and freshwater environments. Depending on the species, they can be planktonic (floating in the water) or benthic (living in the sea bed). While some copepod mothers lay their eggs directly into the water, others carry them in sacs on their tails. My design is inspired by the order Cyclopoida, named because they have only a single large eye like the Greek giant cyclops. The earring pair consists of one male and one female copepod.
The earrings are approximately 2 cm long below the loop, and each earring weighs 5.1 g.
The earrings are 3D printed in solid bronze, brass or sterling silver and finished with nickel-free rose gold-plated, gold-plated or non-plated sterling silver earring hooks to match.
