This lapel pin is inspired by the African clawed frog, Xenopus laevis. Not just any frog, Xenopus is an important model organism for scientists. As a model organism, it is closely related to humans and other vertebrates and was even on board the space shuttle Endeavour to study reproduction in zero gravity. It is used extensively in developmental biology, cell biology, toxicology and neurobiology primarily because of its large, easy to work with embryo. In nature, it is an aggressive and robust predator and can easily invade new habitats and outcompete native frog species.

The lapel pin is approximately 2.5 cm long and ships with a locking pin back to attach it to a lapel or jacket.

The lapel pin is 3D printed in polished solid sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
