This lapel pin is inspired by the worker honeybee. Honeybees are important pollinators of agricultural crops and it is estimated that one third of our food supply is dependent on them. According to the entomologist May Berenbaum, "honeybees are in effect six-legged livestock that both manufacture agricultural commodities – honey and wax – and, more importantly, contribute agricultural services—pollination.”
The honeybee is 1.8cm long and 1.1cm high. It comes with a locking pin back to attach it securely to a jacket or lapel.
The lapel pin can be 3D printed in polished solid sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
