Chloroplast PendantRegular price 89.00 €
This pendant illustrates the internal membrane structure of the plant chloroplast. Chloroplasts are the organelles where photosynthesis, the conversion of light energy to chemical energy and organic molecules, takes place. Chloroplasts have a high concentration of the important photosynthetic pigment, chlorophyll, and are responsible for the green color of plants. The organelles have a distinctive membranal organization consisting of thylakoid membranes arranged in stacks called 'grana.'
This pendant is 3 cm (1.2 inches) long below the loop.
The pendant is available in bronze (shown), solid sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass and finished with a rose gold-plated silver or sterling silver anchor chain to match.
Please note: the video is a computer animation designed to show all sides of the pendant and may not accurately represent the color of the metal.
