This sinuous pendant depicts mating Caenorhabiditis elegans worms. C. elegans is a non-parasitic nematode worm that is used extensively by biologists as a model organism. This worm has been the subject of many neurobiological studies, including a project in the zero gravity environment of the International Space Station to gain insight into the genetic basis of muscle atrophy. The C. elegans pendant model was inspired by mating between the larger hermaphroditic worm and the smaller male worm.
The length of the pendant is 3.3 cm (1.3 inches).
The large silver pendant is 4 cm (1.6 inches) long and is on sale because it will no longer be stocked.
The pendant is 3D printed in 14K gold plated brass or sterling silver, finished with a 45 cm/18 inch long gold plated silver chain, or silver chain to match*, and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
*While a 45 cm/18 inch fits most, other chain lengths are available. At checkout, write a note indicating your preference.
Please note: the video is a computer animation designed to show all sides of the pendant and may not accurately represent the color of the metal.
