This pendant is inspired by Auroralumina attenboroughii, a fossil animal related to jellyfish (phylum Cnidarian) whose genus name means "dawn lantern."  First revealed in a slab of rock in the Charnwood forest of England in the 1950s, it was part of a large, tangled assemblage of other fossils. Finally, in 2022, it was identified as the first known predatory animal from the Ediacaran era by Frankie Dunn and her colleagues at Oxford. Living approximately 560 million years ago, Auroralumina predated the Cambrian explosion from which most animal fossils are recorded.

The pendant is 2.2 cm (0.9 inches) long and 1.7 cm (0.67 inches) wide.

The pendant is 3D printed in solid brass, 14K gold plated brass, or sterling silver, finished with a 45 cm/18 inch long gold plated silver chain or silver chain to match*, and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.

*While a 45 cm/18 inch fits most, other chain lengths are available. At checkout, write a note indicating your preference.
