This science jewelry is inspired by the rosette stage of the plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Arabidopsis is the model organism of choice for many plant biologists. It is easy to grow, developing from seed to seed in approximately 6 weeks, and has a small yet completely sequenced genome. This humble weed, often found growing out of cracks in the pavement along a roadside, has greatly expanded our understanding of plant metabolism and physiology. It is a member of the Brassicaceae, the same plant family as cabbage, broccoli and wasabi.
The large Arabidopsis Rosette pendant is approximately 3.4 cm in diameter. The pendant will be shipped with a sterling silver, gold-plated silver or rose gold-plated silver anchor chain depending on whether you order the silver, brass or bronze pendant.
