This lapel pin is inspired by the rosette stage of the plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Arabidopsis is the model organism of choice for many plant biologists. It is easy to grow, developing from seed to seed in approximately 6 weeks, and has a small yet completely sequenced genome. This humble weed, often found growing out of cracks in the pavement along a roadside, has greatly expanded our understanding of plant metabolism and physiology. It is a member of the Brassicaceae, the same plant family as cabbage, broccoli and wasabi.
The lapel pin is approximately 2 cm in diameter and ships with a locking pin back to attach it to a lapel or jacket.
The lapel pin is 3D printed in solid sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
