This pendant features the Woolly Mammoth, an animal that lived in the Pleistocene epoch and is most closely related to modern day Asian elephants. Woolly Mammoths lived in what is referred to as the "mammoth steppe," a cold and dry Ice Age biome that was populated by large herbivores. They coexisted with early humans, who hunted them for their meat and used their bones and tusks for tools, art and building shelters. The 40,000 year old Lion Man sculpture, found in the Hohlenstein-Stadel cave in Germany, was carved of mammoth tusk.

The Woolly Mammoth pendant is 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide and 1.2 cm (0.5 inches) long below the loop.

The pendant is available in sterling silver, 14K gold plated brass and bronze, finished with a 45 cm/18 inch long silver, gold plated silver chain, or rose gold plated silver chain to match*, and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.

*While a 45 cm/18 inch fits most, other chain lengths are available. At checkout, write a note indicating your preference.

All jewelry ships free of charge from the Ontogenie workshop in Germany. If you live outside of the EU, you may be charged customs or import fees.
