High-quality print of a watercolor painting depicting the box jellyfish, Alatina alata. Box jellies of the class Cubozoa have cubic-shaped bodies with tentacles placed only at the four corners of the cube. Box jellies possess venomous nematocysts on their tentacles to protect them from predation. While a sting from the box jelly Chironex fleckeri can be fatal, that of Alatina alata is severely painful but usually not fatal.
