Nodulated Plant Root Earrings
The nodulated root earrings celebrate the process of nitrogen fixation upon which all animal life is dependent. Inside the root nodules, specialized microorganisms catalyze the conversion of atmospheric nitrogen gas to DNA, amino acids, vitamins, hormones and many other nitrogen-containing metabolites required by the plant. In return for the gift of fixed nitrogen, the plant provides the bacteria with photosynthetic sugars, so everyone's happy. You can show your appreciation for this symbiotic relationship between plant and microbe with these divine root nodule earrings.
The roots are 2 cm (0.79 inches) in length below the loop and each earring weighs 2.5 g.
The earrings are available in sterling silver or 14K gold plated brass, finished with nickel-free sterling silver gold plated silver hooks to match, and are ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
