The Xenopus tote bag is printed with a watercolor painting of the African Clawed Frog, Xenopus laevis. Xenopus is an aquatic frog native to sub-Saharan Africa, and is capable of digging into the mud to survive drought. It is an important vertebrate model organism in human disease studies, as well as a popular aquarium pet.
