This unusual pendant depicts an important anatomical structure on the leaf surface of many plants, the glandular trichome. Glandular trichomes are common among members of the mint family, i.e, basil, peppermint and rosemary. Essential oils and other secondary metabolites are stored in the spherical head of the trichome. These molecules act primarily as a defense against small herbivores like insects, but they tend to have an attractive effect on larger herbivores like humans.
The pendant is approximately 1.7 cm long below the loop.
The pendant is 3D printed in solid sterling silver, finished with a 45 cm/18 inch long sterling silver chain*, and is ready for gift giving with a gift box, polishing cloth, and care instructions.
*While a 45 cm/18 inch fits most, other chain lengths are available. At checkout, write a note indicating your preference.
