This delicate bracelet is based on the structure of Skeletonema species,a genus of diatoms found in all coastal waters except for the polar regions. Skeletonema diatoms are colonial, forming long filaments stabilized by exterior struts, and like all diatoms, they are photosynthetic. Ontogenie has crafted this colonial diatom into a lovely scientific bracelet.

The bracelet is available in size Medium with internal dimensions of 58 mm by 42 mm or size Large with internal dimensions of 60 mm by 45 mm. Due to the way it is constructed, it is slightly flexible and can be bent to fit your wrist snugly, but please do not bend it too far as it may break. If you need a different size, please contact me.

The jewelry is created by 3D printing in wax followed by metal casting in solid bronze, solid brass or solid sterling silver. The Skeletonema bracelet is lightly polished after casting to give it a smooth glossy texture.

All items are gift-wrapped in original, recycleable Ontogenie packaging.

Jewelry in stock at Ontogenie will be ready for shipping within 1-3 days. Jewelry on backorder requires 3-4 weeks production time before it can be shipped.
